Short & sweet

I cannot walk on my foot at all, so was advised to sleep in my boot or put it on each time I have to pee at night. Thank god for wood flooring. I just shimmied myself across our dark bedroom on a pillow and crawled to the bathroom. It’s going to be a long 4-6 weeks, people. This is winning.

  1. Once your out of the boot you’ll be smooth sailing! I work in a physical therapy clinic and everyone has the same reaction as you having to be in a boot, but once their out its night and day with them! At least your not attempting to walk on it and setting yourself back, your active and healthy you will heal so well and be back running in no time!

    1. I can relate. Tore my calf muscle five weeks ago. Will miss a HM in May as a result.
Things are just starting to look up. Yesterday I was given the green light to “try to walk on a treadmill without the boot for three minutes”. I managed to walk for eight minutes. That 0.15 mile walk felt like I was regaining a little freedom.
I am starting to look at my race calendar again. Starting to plan my training for a full marathon in October. I know there is still a long way to go, but now that I can move (even a little bit) I know I will get there.
      You will too!
